Ford Fusion HybridDue
out in 2008 the Ford Fusion hybrbid is already being redesigned and should
provide a solid competitor for both the Toyota Camry and the Toyota Prius.
The 2006 Ford Fusion is propelled by a four cylinder, 2.3 liter engine that produces 160 horsepower and should achieve about 30 mpg on the highway. The hybrid version should enable the Ford Fusion to achieve an even higher mpg in the city. There is also a V6 Ford Fusion, one would expect the hybrid version to be built upon the 4 cylinder model. Ford has announced that its 2008 Fusion will have a hybrid powertrain. Making this the 4th full hybrid in the automaker's lineup. The first three include the Escape, Mariner and Mazda Tribute. The 2008 Fusion Hybrid shows off Ford's dedication to green vehicles. The 4-cylinder version of the current 2006 model Fusion car is rated as a Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) in California. Ford also intends to roll out the Fusion's companion car, the Mercury Milan Hybrid in 2008 as well, which will share the same hybrid power-train. Coming to the hybrid car market
late, Ford is preferring to tackle the hybrid SUV market first. Though llate
to the show, they are demonstrating their eagerness to go green. Even before
the first hybrid car rolls out in 2008, Ford will be showing their greenness
by delivering cleaner burning gasoline engines. More will be coming on the
Ford Fusion Hybrid soon. |
